Estate Planning
You can contribute to organ transplant research by making a bequest to The Lawrence Transplant Foundation. Providing a bequest is easy and should reduce any estate taxes levied against your property.
While legal consultation is always advisable before making any will provision,
a bequest can be simply stated as follows:
"I give and bequeath to The Lawrence Transplant Foundation for Organ Transplant Research (TLTF) ______% of my total estate (or $_____________). TLTF is a not-for-profit tax exempt organization located in the county of Washington DC and having its principal address 1717 K Street, NW,
Suite 600,
Washington, DC 20036."
Some assets are not transferred through a will. These include assets in a qualified retirement plan* that remain after your lifetime. Naming The Lawrence Transplant Foundation as the beneficiary of your qualified retirement plan* may be very advantageous. This is because retirement plans left to an individual, other than a spouse, can be taxed more heavily than other assets.
All that is generally required to leave your retirement assets to The Lawrence Transplant Foundation is to name the Foundation on the beneficiary line when you sign up, or modify your current election by notifying your plan administrator at any time.
