Pedaling Toward Brighter Futures: Life Time Mount Laurel Brings All Kids Bike to Mastery McGraw Elementary

At Mastery Charter McGraw Elementary in Camden, New Jersey, joy was in motion—literally—thanks to a special partnership between All Kids Bike, Life Time Mount Laurel, and the Life Time Foundation. Kindergarten students were surprised with brand-new Strider balance-to-pedal bikes, helmets, and a learn-to-ride curriculum designed to spark movement, confidence, and a lifelong love for wellness.

Funded through a Life Time Foundation grant, this initiative is part of a larger 10-school rollout supporting schools across the nation with the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Program. On this special day, Life Time Mount Laurel team members gathered to assemble and reveal the bikes, witnessing firsthand the first stage of transformational moment when a child experiences the joy and confidence of riding.

Life Time Mount Laurel Team Members

For Drew May, Lead General Manager at Life Time Mount Laurel, being part of this moment wasn’t just an act of service—it was a natural extension of the values his team lives every day.

When you believe in something you don’t need inspiration to take action. As soon as I heard about this opportunity, I knew my team would be thrilled to participate. Supporting our community is always a priority, and this event was a powerful reminder that small moments like a child’s first ride can create lifelong healthy habits.

As the gym filled with excited chatter and rows of bikes, Life Time team members knelt beside new riders—adjusting helmets, steadying handlebars, and offering words of encouragement.

My favorite part of the day was helping the children get on their bikes, strapping on their helmets, and giving them the confidence to take that first ride. Seeing their faces light up with pure joy and excitement is a memory I’ll carry with me, and one they will too.

Movement That Matters

The All Kids Bike program provides more than equipment—it gives children access to a milestone experience many never forget. Learning to ride a bike builds coordination, resilience, independence, and the belief that they can do hard things. For many of these students, it was their first-ever opportunity.

For Drew, the mission behind the moment is personal. As a parent of two, he knows how important it is to make exercise fun and exciting for kids too. He cares deeply about living a healthier, happier life, and believes that, “when children are supported in these habits early, they’re more likely to carry them into adulthood.”

Why Youth Movement Matters

At Life Time and the Life Time Foundation, investing in youth movement means giving kids the tools to grow—physically, emotionally, and socially. It’s about ensuring the next generation has the health and confidence to explore their fullest potential.

Investing in youth movement isn’t just about sports or exercise, it’s about equipping kids with the health, confidence, and character to thrive now and lead well into the future.

A Shared Commitment to Healthier Futures

From the very first wobble to those triumphant first pedals, the McGraw Elementary bike reveal was a celebration of possibility. What began as boxes and bike parts became something much bigger—a spark. A memory. A beginning.

To the students, it was the day they learned to ride. To the Life Time Mount Laurel team, it was the day they helped set dreams in motion.

Together, we're pedaling toward a healthier, more active tomorrow—one child, one bike, one joyful first ride at a time!
