Life Time LIFTS: Grant Program for Life Time Employees
The Life Time LIFTS program was established in 2017 to provide emergency financial assistance to team members who experience unexpected financial hardship due to a natural disaster or unforeseen personal hardship.
Please read all the information provided below before submitting a grant application.
QUALIFIED INCIDENTS: Qualified incidents are unexpected circumstances that arise outside of the employee’s control which causes an economic hardship for the employee’s family. A qualified incident is typically a one-time event that occurs unexpectedly and causes unexpected bills. The reported incident must have occurred within 120 days of the application date. Circumstances that may qualify for a grant fall into the below categories:
- Natural disaster
- Life-threatening or serious illness or injury
- Loss of life
- Catastrophic or extreme circumstances
- Other incident deemed eligible by the selection committee
Please note: Qualified incidents do not include: legal fees, loss of household income due to cut back in hours or lost job, divorce, credit card bills, home foreclosure, accumulated financial distress, or incidents that occurred more than 120 days prior to the application date or other incidents deems ineligible by the selection committee . The program cannot pay for hardship caused by lack of home owner’s or medical insurance.
Eligibility Frequency: An employee who has received financial assistance from the COVID-19 Grant Program between April 1, 2020 and February 17, 2021, may apply for assistance pursuant to this program and such application will be reviewed by the Selection Committee to determine whether additional financial assistance should be granted based on a qualifying circumstance.
EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA: Life Time LIFTS offers nontaxable grants of between $300 and $1,000 for eligible Team Members, determined by the grant tier the Team Member qualifies for. Team Members must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible to submit a grant application:
Tier 1a: (up to $300)
- Is currently employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates; and
- Regularly scheduled to work, and completes, 15 or more hours per week; and
- No Life Time, Inc. tenure requirement; and
- Has a financial need not met by other resources
Tier 1b: (up to $300)
- Is currently employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates; and
- No requirement for hours regularly scheduled to work per week; and
- Has been employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates for at least 12 months (does not need to be consecutive); and
- Has a financial need not met by other resources.
Tier 2: (up to $500)
- Is currently employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates; and
- Regularly scheduled to work, and completes, 15 or more hours per week; and
- Has been employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates for at least 6 months (does not need to be consecutive); and
- Has a financial need not met by other resources.
Tier 3: (up to $1,000)
- Is currently employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates; and
- Regularly scheduled to work, and completes, 32 or more hours per week; and
- Has been employed by Life Time, Inc. or one of its affiliates for at least 6 months (does not need to be consecutive); and
- Has a financial need not met by other resources.
