Growing Stronger Forests Through Partnership

Earlier this month, Life Time Work Minneapolis hosted American Forests and Life Time Foundation along with a group of corporate sustainability leaders in the Twin Cities, for an inspiring conversation about the future of our forests, communities and natural resources.

One of the most powerful themes of the afternoon was the importance of partnership. The environmental challenges we face, from forest loss and drought to rising temperatures and declining biodiversity, cannot be solved by any one project or organization alone. Life Time Foundation is proud to partner with American Forests, an organization whose mission is to create healthy and resilient forests that benefit climate, people, water and wildlife.

We're especially proud to have granted American Forest $1,000,000 to support the restoration of whitebark pine, a tree species found in high-mountain landscapes and national parks. The whitebark pine faces multiple threats including invasive fungus, mountain pine beetle, wildfire, and climate change, all of which contributed to the loss of more than 325 million whitebark pines. Without these iconic mountain top trees, found across many western national parks, many Americans iconic landscapes would no longer function as healthy, resilient ecosystems.

During the event, Sarah Emola, Senior Director of ESG Programs and Executive Director of Life Time Foundation, shared why this work matters, highlighting that effective conservation isn't just about planting more trees; it's also about protecting, diversifying and strengthening existing forests so they can remain resilient for generations to come.

We're grateful to American Forests for bringing together leaders committed to meaningful action and long-term impact. By investing in both forest restoration and community resilience, we're helping create a healthier, more sustainable future for people and the planet.
