Growing MO Trees in Mo’ Places

Team Members from Life Time Frontenac rolled up their sleeves alongside Forest ReLeaf of Missouri for a meaningful Earth Month volunteering event. Together with other community volunteers, the group planted and prepped an impressive 1,400 saplings.

Volunteers split their time between planting saplings, weeding, fertilizing, and tending to young trees that had overwintered—ensuring they’re healthy, strong, and ready for future planting. These 1,400 trees will be maintained and protected for the next year, greatly increasing their odds of survival and successful growth once transplanted into forests, parks, and community spaces. Forest ReLeaf shared that while freshly planted forest saplings typically see a 30% success rate, this extra year of care boosts that rate to 85%.

The team worked with four different native tree species that will one day provide critical benefits for ecosystems across the region. Best of all, once ready, these trees will be distributed at no cost to local parks and nonprofits—bringing lasting impact to communities that need it most.

Our Leadership team recently had the privilege of coming together for a meaningful endeavor – giving back to our local community through sustainable initiatives aimed at promoting a healthier planet. We ventured outdoors, immersing ourselves in the rejuvenating embrace of nature, and channeled our collective efforts towards making a lasting impact. Knowing that our contributions will foster a greener environment for generations to come filled us with a profound sense of purpose and unity as we actively contribute to the well-being of our community and the planet we call home.
